It’s no secret that retail shopping has gone through some dramatic changes during the past few years, but what exactly does the data say?
Are retail stores doomed? Will e-commerce replace all traditional shopping as we know it? In their 2018 study surveying the entire retail industry, the IHL group set out to answer this question.
What they found was very hopeful for traditional retailers. Although online sales are increasing, a large percent of those are actually online sales from traditional retailers. And while some types of stores are struggling, the vast majority of brick and mortar retailers are actually showing solid growth.
